There was plenty of discussions about the announced new StarTrek series and I thought I have to say something. It seems like, the news already started to separate people who love StarTrek, regardless if it's NuTrek... ehh, sorry "Kelvin Timeline," or the Original Trek. I'm not really the fan of the JJ Trek films (this has changed a little, mainly beacuse of he 3rd movie) and knowing the new series will involve someone who played a certain role of creaing that new line of Trek movies it even raised mine and many of us eyebrows all of us all over the world.
Personally I will wait for it and off course the argues will be more relevant when we will have more details about everything... but till then I have a message for ALL OF US: since 1966 we have had 5 brilliant StarTrek TV show, 1 cartoon adaptation and 10 amazing motion picture (sorry, i didn't count the new ones)! I think as long as they won't take those away from us, from "hard core Trekkies" it doesn't really matters what will be or what line the new series will follow. I will enjoy the original timeline as it means a lot to me and without those series, those stories I would probably a different person. I loved those times and I'm great they are still there for us. When I need inspiration, or an escape from this "civilised" world I always go back for the original ones. After all those long years they still gives me hope, they warm up my soul and inspire me. That what it matters for me. It's a bit sad as the audience tranformed for a "blow-up-the-whole-thing" hunger species, but for the ones who still need some quality program we still have those series. I'm pretty sure there will be some of you who will agree and disagree with me about that, but personally I would say: "go to hell with the negativism." Wait, see and than decide if we want it or not... Same goes to the 3rd "Kelvin movie" till then we have to remember what we have and be gratefull for it. :) We can have JJ Abrams, who looked like a Star Trek fan and used the 2 movie to make a successfull Star Wars 7, but he will never be the same as Rick Berman, Brannon Braga, Michael Piller, Jerry Taylor... just to mention a few names whom made the show what we still love and cherish. :) LLAP _\\//
