So here we are at last, the last day of 2018. There's a lot happened in this last year with a great amount of good things, big changes and evidently with some not so great ones too. Generally I'm grateful as 2018 for me personally was a great year. In a "professional" side I've got a new job that allows me to be more creative. The YouTube channel grown quite a lot even though my social presence has been a bit absent here and there, but that mainly comes from the fact that I've had a very busy life behind the scenes. In the beginning of the year I've met a beautiful girl who later on became my wife; we moved to a different city where we both started our new life with a new job. I've done a fantastic Road Trip along the Pacific coast in the US with my dear friend Taylor from Beard VS Geek and from the Stargate Guy; and last but not least I've done some convention where I've met few great people and also interviewed some great actors. So yeah, 2018 was great in many ways. The only negative thing I can think of mainly this Brexit that is currently happening n the UK... but aside that I'm really happy that 2018 end in a very positive way. It's needless to say that I could not have done any of this without my wife, my family, my friends and of course without you my dear follower. :)
Bring it home 2019! :)
In the beginning of every year people tends to set up some goals, some achievements that can be different from the previous years. It's always good to set goals, but I always believed that setting up new habits or changing current life status can be done any time during the year. How fascinating is that the biggest joining wave to the wave happens in the beginning of every year than majority of those folks usually leave when the "fire" is gone from loosing weight. New year happens every year, but habits and goals can be changed or set up every day, am I right? Now in the new year I have only one goal: to continue the work I've been doing ever since 2016. I admit that even though the website gone through a few changes in the last few years I haven't done much to write things here. Now that's been a goal for me ever since August 2018 so I think I just have to get back to it. It is hard sometimes to write when I can grab the camera and talk about the topic I have in mind. YouTube is my primary way of communicating with all of you and even though the busy life I've had I always made sure that one video will come out every week. Now this won't be changed in the new year either. As for the website, the much as I love editing and maintaining it a pretty look won't do a good justice to it, so I have to sit down and write to make my money worth spending on this - having a domain and a service to run this does cost some gold pressed latinum, lol. :) I've been working on some good ideas that I can and I will continue doing and developing in the future and I truly hope that you will enjoy reading them. :) As for the channel the beginning of 2019 will be rather busy with the return of The Orville and Star Trek Discovery, not to mention my ever growing Character Data-file series that will have new entries too. So 2019 will be interesting, exciting and hopefully all good as it can be. :)
Thank you! :)
I would like to finish this off with a special thank you to YOU. Yes, you dear reader/subscriber. :) There's more than 1200 of you following me on YouTube, more than 450 of you in Twitter, almost 300 of you in Instagram and about 200 people in my website in a weekly basis that is super amazing. :) A few years ago when I started this I've never imagined that I'll go this this far. But here we are 2 and a half years later and Trekkerprise surely became a household name in the online Star Trek and The Orville community... thanks to you. :) Happy New Year to all of you! Live long and prosper. _\\//
With the announcement of my first ever online store here's the first Trekkerprise T-Shirt Design Contest as well. I'm super excited to have you involved with the next design that will make it to the store and you will be proud to wear in the future. Being a graphic designer for me is a way to express myself and also to show my passion towards the things I love. With your help we can make something awesome and more unique now.
To make this cool and "trouble-free" I'm looking for original design that inspired by Star Trek, The Orville, Doctor Who or other sci-fi TV series or movies. It's really important that you should not approach me with anything that is under copyright via CBS, Paramount Pictures, BBC, FOX or anyone as we don't want to get in trouble. The work should be original and creative that can have a distinct resemblance to your beloved TV show but not directly copied. The more original the design idea, the best is the chance to win. :)
After the ideas submitted I'll put them together into a video and you'll be able to vote in the comment section below for a certain amount of time. The design idea that gets the more vote will make it to the shop and you'll get a FREE product of your choice along with other goodies. Note that design ideas can be just written instructions, doodles on a paper or even a design created by a design software.
I'm really excited to see what you will come up with. The first 5 design will be up in the website as well and will be there for vote on the Trekkerprise Twitter page for consideration. :) So what do you waiting for? Let's create something cool. :) _\\//
So, CBS just released a teaser poster for Star Trek Discovery Season 2 and however I do love the design and I'm looking forward to the new season more than I actually liked the first one. The poster itself is amazing, I like it's neutrality that no crew members are in it - not that I had any problem with those, just saying. :) So it's neutral with glowing red lines, glowing red dots and an angel look alike icon in the middle. Well, that angel thing looks exactly like the one in the trailer if you remember what we all seen there. There's also 7 red dots in there that they showed in the trailer and also talked about. So my overall feeling is that they simply used the core elements from Season 2 - well at least from the first half or so as far as we aware. :) It's certainly a nice nod to jump-start the new season and give us some direction.
It's still hard to say that new season with the new creatures will reveal the Iconians for the first time in the Star Trek era, but the more we think about them it's the more obvious that they finally got something new that we did not see before, just heard of. Or maybe we all got the whole thing wrong and it's the Borg trying to take over the Alpha Quadrant again because they failed in the Season 2 Enterprise episode "Regeneration." :) Well, I guess, we just have to wait and see. :) I'm curious what do you have in mind with all the Season 2 theories, so let me know in the comments below. Also, if you haven't seen my Season 2 Trailer reaction video, you can find it below or check out my channel for more on Discovery. :) _\\//
So, I've been quiet for a while, but that's mainly because of the crazy life/work balance that I have, plus the recent road trip took a lot of time from me. I had barely had any time creating that much content for the channel - that I really regret - not to mention the website is being neglected as well. Not so good, but obviously this won't last forever. I'm currently working on a bunch of road trip video content that soon will be revealed for everyone on the channel, and I'm planning to add some new articles here too. I do need a little patient from everyone. Life is something that we all have to deal with and mine at the moment is keeping me very busy. I'm working hard on fixing my crazy schedule and have some more time doing the things I love and I committed to. :)
I have a fair amount of video coming from this road trip soon and loads of picture to my social media accounts as well in the next few days that I hope a lot of you will going to enjoy. I still can not thank enough for the support and for the kindness from my dear followers. This means a lot for me. :) So, hold on for a little longer for more content here and on the channel too. :) Till then, keep on Trekking and Live Long and Prosper. :) _\\//
I love a good movie. It does not have to to be sci-fi -- even though that is my main preference :) - but if it has a connection to my childhood, or simply is a great story behind it, I tend to get hyped about it. Recently I've been watching trailers for upcoming movies in 2018 and so far I think this year will be a wicked one when it comes to the big screen. Let's see which movies made me exited this year so far!
Mary Poppins Returns
Wreck It Ralph 2 - Ralph Breaks The Internet
As I mentioned before, looks like 2018 will be a wicked year in the big screen with some classic returns. Are you excited about these movies? Maybe you know something else that will be interesting to watch? Let me know in the comment section below what's in your "must watch" list in 2018 so far. :) _\\//
It's been a few days ever since we witnessed the regeneration of Peter Capaldi's Doctor Who. I have to admit I've got into Doctor Who about 3-4 years ago, and mainly the new Who era, but that does not mean I'm a regular viewer. Apart from being a Trekkie I consider myself a Whovian too - just like an Orvillian, but that's for another day. Certainly the latest adventure of or Time Lord was the saddest one of all. I'm not afraid to say out loud I did cry of half of the episode. The 12th Doctor grow a lot on me ever since I see him first appear in Deep Breath and he continued to be the Doctor I now consider my second favorite. But before I say goodbye to him let's have a look at the Christmas Special "Twice Upon A Time" in bit more in depth than my initial YouTube reaction.
Well, here we are again. It's been a while since I had a chance to write anything in my website. That's mainly because I had a few issue in my personal life that I was dealing with, also the YouTube/work balance was very tight that I had to make a sacrifice and that came to my website. Although I abandoned my "first child" I was working on it quite a lot in terms of structure and design that you might noticed.
I've added and changed a few bits over the last few weeks. The Captain's Log section transformed into a Warp Core. This will serve everything Star Trek including Discovery. The Mind Meld that used to be a geek related blog section, now called - guess what - Geek Zone. so all of Doctor Who and other Sci-Fi topic will be there, just as it was before.
There's also a new About Me page available now where you can read a little bit about me and my love towards Trek and other TV shows. :) The Contact Me page is also a bit more simple now. Overall the site is a bit more simple, yet still informative. As the first refit, I'm quite happy, but obviously there's still something that you can add or change in a website. This is a journey as well, just like making Youtube videos. :)
I've thought about this a lot and now as we have Discovery and The Orville that takes extra time from my life I will have to make some adjustments on this. Officially my plan is to release 1 Star Trek and 1 Non-Star Trek related article a week. Now all I need is time and some coffee to make that soo. :) I hope the much simpler look and the regular content will be something that you will enjoy here in this website. if you have any ideas for topics, discussion starter feel free to let me know. :) Until next time, live long and prosper! _\\//
This post from me a little bit of a shout out too, as I would love to promote the TrekMate guys with their upcoming event that will cover all Star Trek and Sci-Fi. TREK-ON the name of their event, and it's also their first one too. It appears to be a really fun even with writers, artists and even with a formal ferengi bartender... yes, that's true. The amazing Max Grodenchik is coming to this event! But there will be more interesting discussions ahead on everything Star Trek and beyond.
Personally I'm looking forward to the event and to meet the TrekMate guys, the members of one of the longest running UK Star Trek podcast! Join them in the 19th of July for a great day and TREK-ON! _\\//
I have to admit, I did neglect the website lately. It's a shame because the website itself it's one of the most unique thing that I've done since i've encountered Star Trek. I always wanted to create something that will help express my love towards the series and help connect with other like-minded Trekkies around the globe. This journey has been over a year and I've really enjoyed every bit of it. Sadly my life got a little complicated over the last few months, work and personal issues intereferred with the work that I wanted to accomplish here. Although I was very active on my YouTube channel, writing an article sometimes looked a very challenging task. I can not guarantee I will be able to write more often, but I'll do what I can and what I'm capable. I wish I could do more, but working in a full time job, editing 2 videos a week for youtube quite a task already.
In terms of the youtube channel I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary that will be a big milestone for me. I'm really looking forward to that. Also if you following me, you probably now I've started the "Character Datafile" project in my channel that I'm really keen to do and I'm working a lot to get the right content together in an informative and entertaining way. There's quite a few episode there already and I'm glad it already got a really good reception from a lot of you guys. I'm really greatful for this.
In this occassion I would like to thank you everyone for the support and for the patient towards me regarding the website. I hope a lot of you enjoy the content and I'm glad to see there's always visitors in the site. That makes me feel really good. Until next time... Live long and prosper! _\\//
I wanted to make an update on the website a little bit earlier, but I'm sure when it comes to holiday, usually we tend to slow down a bit. Yeah, we all human, we all need our little time to relax and wind down a little bit. I'm the same believe it or now, although feeling guilty is something that I experienced the last few days doing nothing but spending time with family. Well, that's totally acceptable and that's how it should be, but I try to keep up the good work in various channels as well, thinking and working on video ideas for the channel, posting pictures on instagram and even writing on the website as well. It's a hobby, but I still feel responsibilty toward to it as now I'm sharing. :) Sharing is great, and with sharing it comes to community that all round Trekkerprise already. So this time, I'll share a few little things with all of you.
The channel is going great thanks to everyone for the support and the kind comments on every video. It still something that I've never imagined will happen. Creating a youtube channel seemed easy when I've started, but it actually takes part in my life, like a part-time job aside my full-time one. Phew, not bad, right? :) Two weeks ago I made a statement as I'll have a little break from the channel, but saying I'll keep the Sunday segments what ever will happen. :) And here we are, just released a great video with a few beautiful ships in the line that one of my great friend owns and keeps in his place. This weekend I'll come back with a regular video as before. Although I've promised a new Wednesday segment on the channel from the middle of may. As my 100th episode coming up that special segment will debut just after the 100th episode, the following Wednesday. It's something that I've been working on and it feels like it's missing from out there. That's also a bigger project that I'm so keen about and looking forward to share it with all of you. :) Release date will be announced soon.
Doctor Who Reviews
As many of my followers aware of this, I've started a quick recap on the new season of Doctor Who. I've covered the first two episode online in my youtube channel, but sadly the 4th episode has been missed as I have no equipment at the location where I'm at the moment. The revirew will be up soon in the Whoniverse segment this week. So does the new episode from this week as i'm just flying back from my holiday at Saturday night. Future Doctor Who contents will be published soon in the website and in the channel as well.
The Journey Continues...
After all this I think I can safely say I'm really looking forward to the end of my holiday and get back to work soon. The Trekkerprise journey is something that I'm really passionate about and I'm working hard to make everything happen with the channel and with the website as well. In the future this journey will expand with a 3rd installment that will be a bit different, ut still will stay in the sci-fi/geek genre as that's really my main interest.
I would love to extend my thank you for everyone who follows me over my channel and other social media platforms and I'm looking forward to see you soon in the future. _\\//
