Sounds like The Motion Picture?

Check out the beginning of both music... sound like we have a tribute to Jerry Goldsmith?

A new video clip came out yesterday from the Beyond movie and the first thing what felt similar is the music score in that clip. It had a very familiar sounds and I was almost sure I heard that tune before. Maybe I'm wrong and you going to disagree with me, but it was surprisingly sounded like the first Star Trek movie The Motion Picture. I wasn't sure about the exact score, till now.

I was a bit obsessed and after a small research I figured it's The Cloud from the OST. If you check the video clip from 1:11, when the Enterprise heading towards to the Cloud the music begins, just like in Beyond, when they are approaching the planet and that massive ship construction appears... Just check the beginning of the music and you will find a resemblance between these two. Or maybe my vulcan hearing is not the best any more? Personally for me it sounds like Michael Giacchino made a tribute honouring the man behind most of the Star Trek movie soundtracks, Jerry Goldsmith. I hope the rest of the music will be just as good as this little piece... still it will be hard to forget that horrible song from Beastie Boys. I hope the new Kirk will not "sabotage" the whole score with his music taste! ;)
