SEASON  3  IS  COMING

After a long wait, Star Trek Discovery is finally in our doorstep with it's release this Friday on Netflix. I cannot wait to get to see how the story will continues where we left off in Season 2 and also to see how the future looks like. There's plenty of new comers to the series and also some lack of enthusiasm from my own side which I hope with this season will fade away giving some space to some fun!
I gotta be honest, aside bringing back Pike and essentially giving us Strange New Worlds Discovery did land on home base with me. i have explained that in a lot of times that somehow this show did not feel like my "warm blanket" any more, it was more like a pillow in he corner that I every now and then fluff up a little bit. Season 1 started out in a very different note that I have had difficulty digesting - still cannot get away from the fact how the Klingons got redesigned and also how distant it felt from the TOS era that was indeed quite a unique one in design and feel. Season 2 did bring back some of the "familiar" elements of the core that I was missing from the previous season, but still that over all "we are doing the best we can2 approach just did not add up for me.
Season 3 feels a bit different though from the get go. First off, finally we are going to be away from making inconsistencies from existing canon that will also bring some amazing possibilities to the story. I do believe that what will happen in this distant future will be exciting and amazing for me more than the previous stories were. I expect more discovery, less "galaxy saving" and for a close to home base storyline. Discovery finally has a chance to be different and also to be a great show that I truly hope it will be. A lot of hope there I know, but I really want to like this show, I really want to understand and be excited about the new... and I "hope" I will be.
There's a lot of new character who will be meeting and essentially joining the crew. We also going to see soo many new aliens with good old ones as well, so that is something to look forward to. Grudge the cat is gonna be my favourite for sure and finally one more pet that can join in the long line "companions" along Spot and Porthos. We going to embrace more diversity as well that I'm happy about, inclusion and diversity is always a great thing to embrace that I believe Star Trek always made an effort of and pioneered.

THE  FUTURE  OF  REVIEWS

As the episodes are unfolding every week I will be doing my absolute best to bring my reviews to life here in the blog and hopefully also do a discussion on the podcast as well. I will not be making video reviews like before, those days has gone and I really have no time as much as used to in order to do edit a lot aside regular job and other creative works, so blog posts and podcast episodes will be the ones I'll be making and I hope that what I will have to say about each and every episode will spark or start some conversation.
Before the new season kicks in I will be re-watching the last episode called "Such Sweet Sorrow" and will be doing a retrospective about the whole series as I have not re-watched any of the episode ever since they aired. Make sure you check visit the website before Friday for that and after a more regular basis for my weekly reviews. :) _\\//
